Behind the curtain, i am the curtain

2015

The work started with a text inspired by the inventory of objects found in Carlo Mollino’s house, in Turin. Each object of the inventory relates to a chapter of the short story. A single man comes back to his apartment after a party, intoxicated with drugs and alcohol, engaging in a conversation with the surrounding objects and attempting to deal with their ghostly presence: here he’s forced to confront his relationship with consumption. The sixteen drawings of the objects and the texts are framed in a massive architectural structure, made of iron, smoked acrylic, folding doors and Vienna straw, all materials also present in Carlo Mollino’s house, but left out of the inventory, probably because they were less relevant to the construction of the space’s narrative.

Varnished steel, smoked acrylic, vienna straw, folding doors, sixteen collages, charcoal on paper, text on vinylic letter, variable dimensions
